Pastor Ann Carr (Visitation and Prayer Alerts)

I was born and raised in Morris, CT, but transferred around the country for several years as a military wife, finally finding myself divorced and raising two boys in Texas. In 1977, I married again, raising a family of five with my second husband. I have four surviving children, all married, and I am blessed with 14 grandchildren. Nine of them live close enough to be brothers and sisters, very close indeed.

I love what I do. I had felt God’s call to be prepared to serve for many years and had even been taking lay-pastoral classes before I came to the Covenant Church of Thomaston. Shortly after I joined, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Soon after he passed and I retired from serving my home town as Town Clerk for 24 years, I realized my time had come. My only commitment was to God first and to family needs second.

I became a Bi-vocational Lay-Pastor at the Covenant Church of Thomaston in January of 2015. I assist with leading worship, preach when needed, and manage our online prayer request program. I feel called especially to visit regularly with those who are confined at home or in senior care facilities.
