What is a Covenant Church?

  • Evangelical, but not exclusive
  • Biblical, but not doctrinaire
  • Traditional, but not rigid
  • Congregational, but not independent

The Covenant Mission

We are united by Christ in a holy covenant of churches empowered by the Holy Spirit to obey the Great Commandments and the Great Commission:

...to love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind;

...to love our neighbor as ourselves, and

...to go into all the world and make disciples.

How to find us:

On the Naugatuck River in western Connecticut, the scenic little New England town of Thomaston is where Seth Thomas first began making clocks back in 1813. The Covenant Church of Thomaston is located pretty much right downtown. From CT Route 8, get off at Exit 39 (U.S. Route 6). At the bottom of the exit, turn west onto East Main Street and go over the railroad tracks and the river to the traffic light at Thomaston’s tiny triangular jewel of a park, complete with a bandstand and a Seth Thomas clock. Bear left at the light onto Main Street. At the next light, turn right, between the U.S. Post Office and the Thomaston Opera House onto Clay Street. The church is on the left at the next corner (where Grove Street meets Clay).

Besides on-the-street parking near the church, you may also park in the public lot behind the Opera House/Town Hall or behind the public school across the street from the public lot. Handicapped access is available at the front on Grove Street.
